On Tuesday, two bears were freed from their inhumane enclosures in a riverside restaurant in Yerevan. A great step, but with an estimated 80 bears held in cages at restaurants and gas stations throughout Armenia, there is a lot left to be done. To understand the details of the problem and how we can take action, our community had the pleasure of meeting with the two organizations behind the rescue, Alan Knight of International Animal Rescue, and Vicky Mkrtchyan and Ruben Khachatryan of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets.
