Our latest #LookWhosInTown featured Alexis Bonnell, the Division Chief of Applied Innovation and Acceleration in the U.S. Global Development Lab of USAID – US Agency for International Development. USAID, “the lead U.S. Government agency that works to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realize their potential,” currently has $333.8M in funds available!
Bonnell emphasized that USAID is more than just a donor. “For us, it’s more about moving from being a donor to a partner.” They examine what else it is that innovators need in order to make their foundation sustainable.
Investors everywhere are realizing that investing in socially impactful innovations are a logical place to be, she said.
Bonnell recommended that our members utilize globalinnovationexchange.org to find their competition and see what sorts of innovations in their respective fields or sectors have already been funded.
Global Innovation Exchange is “a community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors connecting to address humanity’s greatest challenges.”
