We had the honor of welcoming EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr Świtalski into our hub community. Ambassador Świtalski spoke of the very rich and ancient history of Armenia and the beauty of the country. He talked about the various meetings he has had with the youth of Armenia as the most inspiring part of his work and how impressed he is by them. “…I could feel their enthusiasm and potential,” he said.
Ambassador Świtalski explained that a mutual trust has formed between the EU and Armenia. Some of the projects the EU is very involved in is fighting against corruption in Armenia, empowering women, and encouraging equality for all. The EU is also involved in funding different types of projects such as programs for Syrian-Armenian immigrants so that they may engage in the country’s narrative with ease.
Impact Hub Yerevan member & moderator Raffi Niziblian asked the ambassador, “What question do you have for us?” and the ambassador asked, “How many of you see your future in Armenia?” The vast majority of the members raised their hands. Everyone smiled and he said “That’s what we need to hear from you.”
