Delivering a Dream Through Sport – Meeting with Houry Gebeshian
15 May 2019 - yerevan

“When I learned I was going to represent Armenia in the Olympics, it felt strange as I had never been to Armenia. But when reflecting back on the road I’ve travelled, as an athlete and as a human being, I realized that many of my achievements were due to my Armenian identity, and I’m endlessly grateful for that.”

Houry Gebeshian Armenian Gymnast (who invented a gymnastics move now named after her), met with our Hubbers to share her inspiring story. Houry represented Armenia at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the 2015 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Currently, Houry is volunteering through the Birthright Armenia program and is looking to promote artistic gymnastics here in Armenia by founding her own organization.
